I was at that very spot in 1992 and it was incredible to see what the volcano is capable of. I spent a few summers living just a few miles down the road. Many of the people who lost their homes in 1990 were still living in tents on the beach when I was there. I love Hawaii. I hope I can go back and enjoy it as an adult.
